Ripley Entertainment Overview

For more than 85 years, RIPLEY ENTERTAINMENT INC. has been a global leader in the attractions industry. Ripley’s Believe It or Not! is the largest, fastest growing, and most successful chain of amusement museum-type attractions in the world! Constantly changing and expanding, our already extensive worldwide presence includes a total of 64 attractions in 11 countries. The list of Ripley Entertainment owned and franchised attractions is growing at an exciting pace with new projects and new locations consistently in development. Ripley Entertainment spends millions of dollars on advertising and promotion of Ripley’s Believe It or Not! museums and attractions, initiating an extensive worldwide franchising plan that has been instrumental in expanding the company. Our family of attractions appeals to people all over the world, both young and old, and we can proudly boast attendance figures of over 13 million guests annually!

Ripley Entertainment is a proud member of the family of companies that fall under the umbrella of the Jim Pattison Group. One of Canada’s largest privately owned companies, the Jim Pattison Group began in 1961 as a single car dealership and has grown into a conglomerate of interests in a range of industries, including advertising, broadcasting, grocery stores and automotive retailing. It is the largest full-service sign company in the world and North America’s second largest magazine and newspaper distributor. Ripley Entertainment is proud to be the attractions and entertainment jewel in the Jim Pattison Group family.

Entering a new era of hospitality in Spring 2006, Ripley Entertainment premiered Great Wolf Lodge, a 406-room, all-suite indoor waterpark resort in Niagara Falls.

The opening of Great Wolf Lodge marks Ripley Entertainment's first venture into the waterpark and resort industries, a natural expansion for the 87-year old, world-renowned entertainment company. The centerpiece of the four-story, Northwoods-themed family resort is the 103,000 square foot waterpark, one of the largest in North America. Featuring 13 slides, four pools, three family and adult whirlpools, a behemoth wave pool, a lazy river and a four-story tall interactive waterfort playground, the park's 700,000 gallons of heated water will remain a comfortable 84 degrees F (29C) year round.

Ripley recently opened several new attractions: three new Ripley's Believe It or Not! museums in Williamsburg, Virginia, Panama City Beach, Florida and Kuwait City, Kuwait; the Guinness World Records Museum in the Tokyo (Japan) Tower; the Louis Tussaud's Waxworks in Niagara Falls; and the hugely successful and innovative Ripley's Old MacDonald's Farm Mini-Golf and Super Fun Zone in Sevierville, Tennessee. Upcoming new locations include three attractions in Bangalore, India and one in New York City.

In publishing, Ripley’s Believe It or Not! uncovers its latest collection of weird and wacky facts from around the globe. RIPLEY’S THE REMARKABLE... REVEALED is a new oversized hardcover book filled with hundreds of astonishing, true-to-life tales about eccentric people, unbelievable places and remarkable creatures unlike any seen before. Packed with striking color and archival photographs that will thoroughly surprise.

In television, the globally syndicated Believe It or Not! TV series continues to thrive, converting new Ripley fans daily.

The world's #1 small attractions company, often referred to as that "quirky little company that evolved from a cartoon," continues to grow both in popularity and in brand recognition. The cartoon that started it all is still produced and is seen daily in nearly 200 newspapers in 42 countries.

Meanwhile, visitors continue to click the turnstiles at our Ripley's Believe It or Not! museums, state-of-the-art Ripley Aquariums and other Ripley's attractions worldwide, including Haunted Adventures, Moving Theater ride simulators, Louis Tussaud's Waxworks, Guinness Museums, Ripley's themed interactive mini-golf courses and Super Fun Zone arcades.
